That news was the best thing to happen to me all day. I was dragging myself along at school... not good since I had a longish shift at work and then my most intellectually demanding class (algorithms) immediately after. At least I'm home now, thank goodness. Every day, sitting on that bus with all those nebby people, I begin to doubt more and more whether I'll make it back to the suburbs in one piece.
Anyway, our driveway's choked up with construction equipment. Mom decided to tear out the pool, and as reluctant as I ever was about maintaining it (the stench of chlorine tablets can incinerate your nosehairs, and don't even get me started about the things we've found in the filter), I can't say I'm too terribly sad to see it go.
It seems I really missed programming, LOL... we got our first SQL assignment in database class, and I was all excited about plugging away at it last night. It isn't even that interesting an assignment; it's just there to make sure we know how to populate relations and formulate basic queries. ^_^ Programming is fun when you're in the right mood for it (and when things work properly, heh), but I don't think I'd want it to be my job day in and day out. That'd be tough- 'specially since you'd have to make your code work with everyone else's code. I only ever had one group programming assignment, back in high school. Let's just say the results were less than stellar.
Still waiting on my group members in operations management to send me their parts of our assignment due Monday, so that I can slap them all together and make them pretty. 'Course, they're all gonna wait 'til 10:35 PM Sunday... goddamnit but I hate group projects.
