Roethlisberger has been kicking ass and taking names. I seriously doubt Maddox is going to get to keep his first-string position when he comes back from injury; we'll be challenging Satan to a snowball fight in hell first. At the same time I'm happy for the team doing well, I'm quite sad for Maddox. He seems like a good guy despite getting shafted contract-wise (as a starter last year, he made the league-minimum salary- which is still a nice chunk of change that I'd kill to be making myself, but it's nothing compared to what other starters make), but he just doesn't have the mobility and grace under fire that Roethlisberger does.
Some of my neighbors are Packers fans- which is delightful, because I am a closet Packers fan. Have been for years, and was especially so last year when the Steelers were sucking left and right. Don't tell anybody, or there'll be a hoarde of Yinzers plastering our front doors with eggs n'at while pahndin' dahn Ahrns and Permanee's sammiches.
I learned in linguistics class that the Pittsburgh accent is a unique phenomenon among English speakers; no where else in the world will you find someone who talks like a Yinzer. Interesting. I'm still grateful every day of my life that I didn't pick it up. At least I don't think I did... did I?
