We've been trying to load the Sasser fix, AdAware, and Norton onto a CD for the laptop- no way am I letting Nick hook it up to the network first- but since we couldn't salvage the CD-burning software utility we had on the dead SCSI, most of our time has been spent unsuccessfully downloading freeware program after freeware program that doesn't work. Can anyone tell us where to find a nice utility?
Even with its most recent RAM boost, my computer's officially the weakest link on the LAN, which makes me sad. It was such a fast little computer when I first got it in 2000, and I still like to think of it that way. I mean, for the most part, it's more than adequate for my needs. Except lately it's been having trouble with newer video games- most notably, Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness (*spit*), where I got to one level that my GeForce2 really, really didn't want to render. No support or patches for it- but I'm not surprised, seeing as they were up to their eyeballs in bugs even before the damn game was released. Ahem. Anyway, I plan to invest some of my new-found wealth into a new graphics card soon. May go for more upgrades later, but I'm not sure yet. I can be startlingly complacent sometimes.
