Updatelet
Remy's family was in town for part of last week, which was fun. They all enjoy Pittsburgh, and they got on swimmingly with my family- which doesn't surprise me, but at the same time, I can't help feeling relieved.

Otherwise, I remain less than healthy, which makes my cold over two weeks old now. I feel mostly fine, except that I get congested and cough-y each evening with some really ugly mucus. My left ear blocked up on Saturday, and it's been ringing ever since. Can't hear as well out of it, either, and nothing I do clears it entirely. I'm trying to get an appointment with my PCP, but no one's answering the damn phone. Worst-case, I will drive down there on my lunch hour. I think it's a sinus infection at this point, and I just need that little piece of paper to obtain some antibiotics.

Ugh! Colds are bad enough; colds in summer are insult upon injury. *hug*

Take care of yourself! We just found out that a neighbor has been in the hospital over 2 weeks with pneumonia and just now was okay enough to come back to his house. D:

Oh goodness, best wishes to your neighbor! I've had pneumonia before. It's the sickest I've ever been, and it fucking blows. I had to spend time in the hospital, but not nearly that long. Luckily, I had the bacterial kind, which meant I was off my feet for a week at home, sucking down antibiotics. It turned out to be midterm week during junior year in high school, but all my teachers were nice about letting me retake tests and such.

The things I will never forget about the experience: the awful taste in the back of my throat, the horrible coughing, and the nonstop nausea. There is no food on Earth that is even remotely appealing when you have pneumonia. Even my beloved Cocoa Puffs elicited a gag reflex just thinking about them.

Compared to all that, I am feeling AWESOME right now!
