Game 14: 13-9 (W)
My throat is sore from screaming, and I'm one more skipped heartbeat away from a major cardiac episode. Steelers pulled it off at the wire, once again. Ward had a pretty big game too, which always makes me happy.

Even happier? We've clinched our division, and a first-round bye in the playoffs. And with the Texans' amazing win versus the Titans, there's a possibility we'll leapfrog Tennessee and clinch the first seed (and thus home field advantage throughout the playoffs).

That would be neat, but I'm happy enough with our guaranteed spot in the playoffs, and a first-round bye is huge too!

Of course, Ravens fans are whining that the refs handed this one to us. I admit, that one first down early on was kinda shady, but so were all those missed calls on blatant pass interference and holding by the Ravens. The Holmes TD was a TD, plain and simple.

As someone put it on Fark: "Different bird, same whine."

Got to disagree. The ball must cross the plane after posession is established. Posession is established when the receiver has control of the ball AND two feet are in bounds. The ball was clearly on the 3 inch line when Holme's toes hit. Further, the review requires indisputable evidence, which there certainly was not.

That said, I think we would have went for it and made it. You can't bitch about a bad call inches out. These are the things teams have to play through. Harrison was crazy held/tackled on Flacco's biggest toss to Heap. If you arent good enough to win in spite of shitty calls (see pit v ind during the superbowl run), you don't have a right to bitch that you "should have" won that game. Ravens fans need to worry about a wildcard berth, not the zebras.

Again regional preferences prevailed and I got stuck with the Pissants slaughtering the Raiders. We did laugh though when we swapped over to the post games shows and saw that the Stillers won in controversial fashion...again. They really need to cut that crap out. If we beat Tennessee I am gonna be very very happy!

If there's one advantage to missing these games, it's that you're far less likely to have a heart attack than I am ;) I need to just start watching when there's five minutes or less left in the fourth quarter.

Beating the Titans would be awesome! What wouldn't definitely not be awesome is if we have to play the Ravens in the playoffs.
