Saturday was two years to the day since I met Remy in person, in Hershey PA. So I gave him a Hershey bar in the morning, and later in the day, we checked out the chocolate exhibit at the State Museum. The coincidence was completely by accident- it wasn't until we were in line for the tour that we were like, "Oh, hey! Chocolate! Hershey! Two years! WOO!"

The afternoon/evening was spent at Remy's coworker's/my former coworker David's house, eating dinner and talking up a storm. Even though I like my current job much, much more than the former, I do miss hanging out with Remy and David during breaks/lunch. We never seem to run out of interesting/funny things to talk about. David's sigoth is also very cool. We didn't go home 'til closer to 2:00 AM, and even then had to pull ourselves out the door.

Sunday, I expected to be somewhat of a Wii widow. Don't get me wrong, I wanna play the thing too, but not nearly as badly as Remy does. Not being so insane as to camp in wait for something we can easily get in another month or so, we had originally planned to hit Target and Toys 'R Us around 10-ish Sunday morning to track one down. But then on Saturday, Remy found a link online for Wii preorders from Radio Shack (courtesy of Gizmodo). So he preordered one and thought all would be kosher... until the order was canceled on him Sunday morning. Apparently, RS's allotment was smaller than they'd anticipated. And that is why we don't trust Radio Shack, my friends. They screw you out of Wiis, and they brought the Satellite of Love back to Earth and ended MST3K.

Xmas also came early this year, as Remy wanted to give me my presents on Saturday. I don't blame him for being excited. I got MST3K Volume 4, Carl Sagan's Cosmos (which I've never seen but have always wanted to), and two Sagan books, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark and Pale Blue Dot- both of which I've read, but want to read again. Big, grand, geeky haul- I am most pleased =)

This was the first weekend in a long time where I didn't spend a significant portion of it depressed for no reason. Plus, the Steelers beat the Browns (as well they always, ALWAYS should), and we only have a three-day week. w00t!!
