OS Geekery

I was trying to learn more about Windows Services when I came across this article, which amuses me for some reason. Maybe one day, when I'm very bored, I'll try reproducing their example- then have fun taking screenshots and jumping through hoops to open Paint so's I can save them.

I don't recommend trying that at home unless you paid attention in your OS class(es)- and even then maybe not, given how inherently ghey Windows can be- but I do recommend picking up that Process Explorer program they mention. It's the Task Manager on steroids. It'll kill processes Windows won't, it can kill trees of processes, and even lets you Google processes if you find one running that you haven't heard of before. I'm still tooling around with it, but I like what I see.
