This takes me back
I never got into horror. My parents let me watch "scary" movies and television from a young age, emphasizing the fact that none of it was real, so there was nothing to be afraid of. I took the message to heart so well that I could sit through most of the stuff that was making my contemporaries piss themselves and have nightmares without blinking an eye. This wasn't to say that I didn't have phobias growing up (or now), but horror flicks/monsters weren't and aren't among them. I tend to lump the offerings of the horror genre into the categories of "hilarious," "awful," "hilariously awful," "boring," or "trying too hard," and I don't go out of my way for them.

It takes a lot to scare me (by "scare," I don't just mean startle or shock, I mean the sort of feeling that prevents you from walking down a dark corridor of your house at night). But this game- this game scared the ever-loving holy jeez'um crow shit out of me, especially the parts where you had to think fast and do something to save the protagonist from being ripped apart or sliced in half. Loved it. Freaky, freaky shit- and there are videos from the game in the article! I'm totally watching those later when Remy's here to protect me.

I loved that game ... plus it was the first "adult" themed game I was allowed to play. Gotta love nudity and gore .....

actually I think the nudity may have been in the second one

I think you're right. I never played the second one, but I somehow got my hands on a game strategy guide for it. Was it any good?

just as good as the first

Cool...

There was another game along the same creepy vein called "Tender Loving Care." It was a game and a psychological profiler- based on what you explored and how you answered various questions, the ending of the game changed. I didn't make it all the way through, as the game stopped working for whatever reason, but I did like it.

Re: dinner?
I have Caitlin's number, yes! I'd love to meet up with you guys for dinner. As of right now, it will probably be either Wednesday or Thursday evening after 6:00. Hope that's okay! If you have any preferences on where to meet, let me know.

Re: dinner?
Er, Wednesday or Thursday next week (the 17th or 18th of October). Probably should've clarified...

I didn't have a PC hack then. Else I would have *loved* to play that game.

If I had a copy and knew of a good DOS emulator, I'd hook you up. Sadly, I don't, on both counts.

...still haven't psyched myself up to watch those death scenes again, lol...

I think I can find a copy or two of it. As far as emulators are concerned, how about DosBox?
