You can partially thank Rupert Murdoch (like he isn't in enough shite)...his The Sun tabloid in England goes and posts a front page headline with Norway's 9/11 'Al Qaeda' Massacre! Note the cheery advert for cheap camping in the top left hand corner.

And of course American media is so geared towards anything remotely evil automatically being that of Islamic Jihadists. We'll ignore the fact that there are probably more ultra right wing Christians in the U.S. than the entire population of Norway.

I hope the Murdoch media empire goes down in flames, I really do. I also hope that actual journalism returns to this country. I'm glad that I can turn to sources like Deutsche Welle and Al Jazeera when I want news above a third-grade level, but it shouldn't have to be that way.

And yes, how easily Timothy McVeigh and Scott Roeder are forgotten. Anything bad happens, it must have been "one of them." Until it's not. Then...? Meh.

I'm not afraid of radical Muslim jihadists. At least I KNOW they want to kill me. (In which case they can say hello to my good 'ol-fashioned American infidelic middle finger, and my good buddies Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson.)

I AM *terrified* of right-wing fundamentalist Xtians (not to be confused with *actual* Christians, who, yanno, follow that whole Jesus thing about treating others like you'd want to be treated and so on...) who say they want to "restore" America to its "godly" and "moral" path...because something tells me they would take a rather...unholy...enjoyment in that 'restoration!' I'm with you! I'm also rather nervous about this whole House GOP economic hostage situation. Part of me wants to believe it's more of the professional wrestling-style song and dance that is national politics, but the rest of me is nervous. If these assholes are serious about wrecking the economy just to tank Obama- which, by the way, only the nuttiest of nut-tards are pinning the blame on Obama at the moment- they should be arrested and tried for treason.

That's just it - they ARE deliberately fucking around just to make Obama look bad, and they've flat-out admitted it verbatim. Words cannot express how pissed off I am at that whiny little crocodile-tears bitch Boehner for sucking up to the Teabaggers (who are, naturally, the instigators of this mess).

For comparison, the GOPricks apparently had NO problem jacking up the debt ceiling for their patron saint, Reagan (17 times), or for Bush I (5 times), or his hellspawn Bush II (7 times). (For Clinton it was a mere 4 times, but then, we probably didn't need to, being that we were enjoying an unprecedented economic prosperity!) So for them to claim all of a sudden that we're being "irresponsible" and that Obama is OMG going to make the middle class even poorer is pure bullshit.

I think that, if a deal is reached, it will come down to the very last literal wire-moment. But it will be an ugly one, and people are going to suffer for it big-time (I'm thinking in particular women, who have had a VERY bad year re: social programs and rights, especially in light of the Xtian jihad declared on Planned Parenthood).

I want to rule the world now just so I can bring back public beheadings. >:/
