I know that spotting after a pap smear is normal... but is it normal to not have any spotting until nearly a week after a pap? I never bleed between cycles, so I'm trying to deduce a reason for why I suddenly am now.

And it's not so much "spotting" as it is really light flow all day long. Is that also considered "spotting?" So confused...

I believe the term spotting refers to any bleeding in between periods.

I'm not sure about the other part - spotting seems pretty random to me. Have you done or taken anything recently that would have tweaked your hormones? Even things like extra stress can cause spotting.

Can't think of anything offhand- heck, I went to a lower-stress job starting in July! But hormones are indeed weird >.<* Thanks for the reassurance!

extra stress, change in diet, wanting to go postal on fellow coworkers, new meds, etc. It's normal (even if on BC). The only reason you'd ever need to get it checked out is if it's painful.

Thanks! Funny, though, how things like this just make you stress out more, which can only knock things further off-balance...!
